Craft Room Makeover (Part 3) {Video}

This weekend, despite the rain, I decided to work in my craft room a little more.  I didn't think I could do it, but I realized that if I chunk the work, I can focus only on one area, feel a sense of satisfaction for that day and go on to something else.

The way I work/clean, I always tend to go around the perimeter of the room and then work my way to the middle.  Whatever's left in the middle by then has to find a new home outside of mine or I have to think of how I can save it in a way that won't disrupt what I've just organized.  Sometimes that means finding the right shelving or taking some thrift store runs.  Those are always fun.

Well, anyhoo, the lime green walls in my craft space proved to be a great pick-me-up on such a dreary day.

What's my ultimate goal?  To create a workable area that has a boutique/studio feel so that I can welcome guests in there at any time.

To All the Elementary School Music Teachers Out There....

know that your work is not in vain.  Even after umpteen years, students still remember those songs we learned in those music books.  And let me also say, that this student also remembers plenty of songs from music programs, monthly poems that we had to recite (thank you Language Arts Teachers) and patriotic/Thanksgiving songs we had to sing aloud for a grade (thank you Social Studies Teachers).

I pulled myself out of bed yesterday long enough to work on a section of my craft room.  Then I hammered this peg that had come out of the side of the cube organizers.  And the rest, as they say, is history!

Life as I Know It - Weekly Update #31 {Blog + Video}

Sorry guys that I don't have a whole lot to share this week.  Been still trying to recover from the never-ending allergy/sinus thingy.  It's been rainy almost all week and that makes me want to seriously sleep in.  Nevertheless, here's just a little of what's going on....

• Been drowning in paperwork and data.  I might be able to come up for air soon.  We shall see.
• Still learning my way around my Macbook.  I feel left-handed and I'm actually right-handed so right now a lot of things feel backwards for me (like the power cord on the left and closing out applications on the left).  I'm still looking for a backspace button, if it even exists, but I'm learning.
• Co-presenting at a conference next month so I have to get my parts together and practice with the other presenter.
• Still looking for two pink storage cubes.  I know I'll find them.  :-)

Now I think I'll pull myself out of bed and go do a little work in my craft room.  My wound from putting the shelving together is on the mend, so I think I'll survive.  lol

Ever since the convention I've been so super tired and when I took a day off, it's like my body said, "now I can crash because I have an extra day."  That wasn't what I intended, but anyhoo, this is how I spent my Monday.
