The following is recipe for Green Chile
Chicken Turkey Burgers. In order to be a fan of this burger, you must love the smokiness in cumin and the bite of a green chile pepper. Because I love them both, it wasn't long before I tried out this recipe. Not having, and never having purchased ground chicken before, I used what was in my freezer - ground turkey.
What you'll need for this dish:
- ground chicken breast
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- ground cumin
- onion powder
- garlic cloves
- diced green chiles
- Monterey jack cheese
- honey
- lime juice
What I actually used:
- ground turkey
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- ground cumin
- garlic cloves
- diced green chiles
- Mozzarella cheese (in the burger)
- Pepper Jack cheese slices (on top the burger)
- honey
- lime juice
This is not a burger I could eat very often. I can't even remember the last time I had any kind of burger. But, this is one that I will keep in my queue. What a tasty treat!
* One of the thing I've enjoyed about Pinterest is that I've found lots of new blogs to follow. And this is one of them -
How Sweet It Is.
Bon Appetit,
Oh yum! I've made turkey burgers a few times without a recipe. How nice to see what other people put in theirs. The cumin is an inspired touch!
ReplyDeleteThanks Libby, this looks so good! I just had to pin it...my que and my share!

Ok- being from NM, I can't see this and *not* make a recommendation for the green chile. :) (Green and red chile are the food staples in NM. I knows my chile!) I can really recommend ordering jarred green chile from www.SantaFeOleFoodCo.com . I actually just made some green chile enchiladas tonight using some of their chile. SOOO YUM!
ReplyDeleteoh. my. I must try this! I would have to use ground chicken though, since I DETEST ground turkey. To me it's dry, tough, flavorless and smells awful. I do love ground chicken though, to me it's more tender and juicy. I am dying to try Bison, because I have heard wonderful things about it, but the hubs refuses to cross over to red meat territory. It never occured to me to add cumin and chile to the burger, but I must now try it.
